about the introduction to solar PV installation course

San Diego County is #2 in the nation for solar installations!
This course helps students pass the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Photovoltaic Associate credential. NABCEP is a nationally recognized certifying agency for solar installers. This course is split into two parts: the first is the theory and practical hands-on experience; the second is preparation for the exam. The class will jointly build a demo solar system using common PV components and electrical parts and tools. The class will integrate theory, code and regulations with practical applications.

Topics include fundamentals of solar electric systems, equipment and components, system sizing and design exercises, basic electronics, basic electrical wiring, safety, and a discussion about the viability of solar and other alternative energy systems.
