This course is designed to train students to qualify to an American Welding Society (AWS) code. The course will explore basic welding processes and procedures, safety, interpretations of blueprints/shop drawings, metallurgy, different fabrication tools, different welding qualifications, procedure qualification, OFC/OFW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding.SIGN UP NOW!
GI Bill ® funding approved. For all other candidates, tuition is FREE through the DOL funded America’s Promise Grant. NOTE: A $200 charge to cover administrative costs will be collected upon registration.

Completion of enrollment documents. Students must be at least 15 years of age.
Students who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from MiraCosta College and test to qualify to an AWS code.
This training is designed to help you start a career in welding, move up within your current company, or to enhance your skillset for your next job.
William has almost 27 years of experience in the welding industry, including sales, fabrication, and design. He is AWS CWSR Certified Welding Sales Representative. Although the majority of his time has been in sales, he has had numerous side jobs as a welder. In addition, he has worked closely with customers to improve their processes, using a variety of different welding tools and equipment.
Nick has been in the welding industry for over 7 years as a quality control manager and inspector. He holds his AWS CWI and consults for new contracts in regards to welder qualifications and welding procedures. He has been acting QC for LA City Certified Fabricator with MWS/Sheet Steel/Reinforcing endorsements.
We offer information sessions for many of our job training programs. The information session offers you the opportunity to learn all about the programs in a relaxed environment.
