In the advanced manufacturing and engineering fields, it is imperative to know how to measure accurately to ensure quality.
In the 15-hour Manual Measuring Workshop, students will receive an introduction to the importance of measuring and testing/inspection, the tools used, and the applications for the various different tools. Students will have lots of hands-on practice measuring using calipers, micrometers, and gages.
Digital Precision Measuring is an introduction to metrology using a portable CMM and Verisurf CAD software. Students will learn the basics of inspection, measurement, analysis, and reverse engineering. This course is for individuals working within the advanced manufacturing environment.

$100. Tuition is FREE through the DOL funded America’s Promise Grant. NOTE: A $30 charge to cover administrative costs will be collected upon registration

Completion of enrollment documents.
Students must be at least 15 years of age.
Students should be familiar with the basics of blueprint reading.
If you successfully complete a program under 50 hours, we can issue a certificate for $15.

Max Roshensky graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked in several industries, including almost 10 years in manufacturing. He has worked as an Inspector, Quality Engineer, and Process Engineer. He holds a CQI (Certified Quality Inspector) and CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Certificate from ASQ. He currently holds the position of Quality Assurance Engineer at Surface Optics Corporation.
Thomas Shivers is a Mechanical Engineer with 20 years of experience in management, design, quality, and stress analysis for both metal and composite structures that relate to OEM/MRO manufacturing, repair, new product development, and research & development. Most of his experience is in the aerospace/aviation industry with expertise in project engineering, design, testing, tooling, manufacturing and quality at places like Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, GKN Aerospace, and Rolls Royce Aerospace. Tom has worked with FAA/FAR Parts 145 (airframes), 138 (airframes), and 129 (aircraft engine components) for aviation repair organizations.
